Abhishek Bajaj Makes Singing Debut With ‘Sherdil,’ Blending Action, Romance and Music

Mumbai — Actor Abhishek Bajaj has expanded his creative pursuits into singing with his latest music video, “Sherdil,” a project he says was driven by his desire to bring a long-held artistic vision to life.

Bajaj took an active role in developing the production, contributing to decisions involving direction, casting, music and the overall creative concept.

The actor said he wanted the project to offer audiences something different from conventional Indian music videos.

“For me, Sherdil was never just about making a music video. It was about bringing a vision to life that had been in my mind for a long time. I’ve been approached by several music labels for music videos, but I never wanted to do something just for the sake of it,” Bajaj said.

“I wanted to create something of my own, something that would offer audiences a different visual treat and experience,” he added.

The idea began taking shape after Bajaj met producers Prateek Sharma, Parth Shah and Chakir Hussain, who expressed interest in collaborating on a music video.

Their discussions eventually led to the development of “Sherdil,” which combines elements of action, poetry and romance.

Bajaj said the goal was to create a cinematic musical experience that explores the contrasting emotions of a character who embodies both strength and vulnerability.

“The vision was to create an action musical experience that brings together poetry, action and a love story in a way we don’t often see in Indian music videos. The title reflects the central conflict that drives the character: the coexistence of a fearless warrior and a passionate lover,” he explained.

The producers said the title was chosen to reflect the character’s dual nature, combining courage with emotional depth.

“The title Sherdil felt right because it captures the entire essence of the story in a single word. ‘Sher’ means lion, and ‘dil’ means heart. Together, they represent a man who has the courage and ferocity of a lion but is also driven by the emotions of his heart,” they said.

The music video features Bajaj alongside actress Payal Rajput, with vocals performed by Bajaj and Hashmat Sultana Khan.

Vivek Kar composed the music, while Sharma, Shah and Hussain produced the project under The LSD music label.

Released Monday, “Sherdil” marks a new creative venture for Bajaj as he explores opportunities beyond acting.

The project brings together his interests in storytelling, performance and music, allowing him to take a more direct role in shaping the final production. (Source: IANS)
