Lynn, Mass. — Acclaimed vocalist Kavita Krishnamurthy and renowned violinist L. Subramaniam are set to take the stage on May 9 at the Lynn Memorial Auditorium, as part of the upcoming “Bollywood & Beyond” concert.
Ahead of the performance, the duo appeared on Chai With Manju, where they discussed their decades-long musical journey, collaborations, and the evolution of Indian music on the global stage. During the conversation, Krishnamurthy surprised viewers by singing one of her most iconic songs live, offering a spontaneous moment that highlighted her enduring vocal artistry.

Presented by Generation Bollywood, the May 9 concert will feature a blend of Bollywood classics, Indian classical music, and global influences, reflecting the artists’ collaborative style.
Krishnamurthy, one of India’s most recognized playback singers, has recorded more than 50,000 songs across over 45 languages during a career spanning four decades. She rose to prominence with hits such as “Hawa Hawai,” “Nimbooda,” and “Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast,” and has received multiple honors, including four Filmfare Awards and the Padma Shri.
Subramaniam, an internationally known violinist, is recognized for his fusion of Carnatic classical traditions with Western orchestral music. Together, the duo has performed worldwide and contributed to music education through initiatives such as the Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts.
The Lynn concert is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. and is expected to draw audiences from across the region.
