Jasmine Sandlas says expanding setlist makes choosing songs for live shows difficult

MUMBAI — Punjabi singer Jasmine Sandlas says her growing catalog of songs has made it increasingly challenging to decide what to include in her live performances, as she rides momentum from her recent work in the Dhurandhar film series.

Sandlas shared her thoughts on Instagram alongside photos of herself, saying her setlist has expanded significantly following the success of new tracks.

“My setlist just got so much bigger. It’s gonna be so hard to choose what songs to sing and which ones to leave out. I can’t wait to sing this song at my next show. Main aur Tu. Oye Oye. Vaari Jaavan. And of course ‘jaiye sajna’,” she wrote.

Songs such as “Main Aur Tu” and “Jaiye Sajna,” from director Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar duology, have been gaining traction on social media. “Jaiye Sajna,” performed by Sandlas and Satinder Sartaaj, features in Dhurandhar: The Revenge and stars Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt.

The first installment, Dhurandhar, was released in 2025 and centers on a covert counterterrorism operation involving an undercover Indian intelligence agent infiltrating criminal and political networks in Karachi.

The sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, released in March, continues the storyline, following the agent as he navigates deeper into criminal syndicates and political structures while pursuing justice linked to the 2008 Mumbai attacks and confronting broader threats.

The films draw loose inspiration from a range of real-world events, including the 2014 Indian general election, Operation Lyari, and the 2016 demonetization initiative.

With multiple songs from the franchise gaining popularity, Sandlas’ expanding repertoire is now presenting a new challenge — narrowing down fan favorites for her live shows. (Source: IANS)
