Chennai– Musical prodigy Lydian Nadhaswaram, best known for winning The World’s Best on CBS in 2019, has expressed his gratitude to more than 1,000 singers who contributed to his ambitious new project The Thirukkural 1330 – Musical Ethos. The work will be unveiled at a grand launch on September 6 at Valluvar Kottam in Chennai.
In a message posted on social media, Lydian invited the public to the event and reflected on the scope of the two-year effort. “Our deepest gratitude to the 1000+ singers who became a part of this divine project. At the same time, our heartfelt apologies to many singers who could not be included,” he wrote.
The young composer explained that out of more than 150,000 voice samples received, only about 1,000 could be featured. “We truly value every single effort and promise that we will join hands and collaborate in future projects,” he said, thanking supporters for their love, patience, and understanding.
The Thirukkural 1330 – Musical Ethos is a monumental reinterpretation of all 1,330 verses of the ancient Tamil classic, retold through original music that pairs each Kural with its Porul, or meaning. Amirthavarshini composed all 1,330 melodies, while Lydian arranged, performed, recorded, mixed, and mastered the entire body of work.
With more than 1,000 voices, 22 hours of music, and over 200 musical styles, the project seeks to present the Thirukkural’s wisdom in a way that listeners can “hear, learn, understand, and live by,” Lydian said. (Source: IANS)
