Chennai– The makers of 4.5 Gang, the much-anticipated Malayalam web series directed by acclaimed filmmaker Krishand, have released its trailer—offering a bold, gritty, and darkly comedic glimpse into a world of ambition, chaos, and survival in the underbelly of Trivandrum.
Slated to premiere on Sony LIV from August 29, 4.5 Gang is inspired by true events and presents an offbeat story centered on a quirky group of misfits—four young men and a midget from a local slum—who are tired of being overlooked and disrespected. Their unlikely dream? To take charge of the neighborhood’s prestigious temple festival.
But their aspirations soon put them on a collision course with the local underworld, ruled by a ruthless gangster who dominates the strange and fiercely competitive trade of milk and flowers in the city. What follows is a chaotic, unpredictable ride filled with dark humor, emotional depth, and social commentary.
Produced by Mankind Cinemas, the series brings together a stellar cast of veterans and fresh faces. Seasoned actors Jagadish, Indrans, and Vijayaraghavan headline the ensemble, joined by Hakkim Shah, Darshana Rajendran, Sanju Sivaram, Vishnu Agasthya, Sachin, Santhi Balachandran, Niranj Maniyan Pillai, Sreenath Babu, Shambu Menon, Prashant Alex, and Rahul Rajagopal.
Behind the scenes, the series is backed by a top-tier technical crew. Vishnu Prabhakar handles cinematography, while Sooraj Santhosh and Varkey compose the music. Sasi Kumar serves as editor, and Shravan Satya has choreographed the stunts. The costume design is helmed by Divya Joby and Kavitha Santhosh, with VFX crafted by Coconut Bunch.
The story, screenplay, and dialogues are penned by Krishand himself, whose previous works have been lauded for their experimental narrative style and rooted storytelling.
With its unique blend of dark humor, real-life inspiration, and raw storytelling, 4.5 Gang promises to be a gripping watch—blurring the lines between ambition and anarchy, all set against the pulsating chaos of an urban slum determined to rise. (Source: IANS)
