CHENNAI– To mark the birthday of actor-composer Vijay Antony, the makers of the upcoming neo-political thriller Shakthi Thirumagan released the lyrical video of the film’s soulful track Maarudho on Thursday. Directed by Arun Prabhu, the film has already generated strong buzz among fans and critics ahead of its September 5 release.
Vijay Antony shared the lyrical video on his X profile, writing: “#MAARUDHO Lyric Video | #ShakthiThirumagan #ShakthiThirumaganFromSep05.” The serene melody, sung by Abhijith Anilkumar with lyrics by Karthik Netha, is composed by Vijay Antony himself.
The film is eagerly awaited for several reasons, including its director Arun Prabhu, known for critically acclaimed films like Aruvi and Vaazhl, and the fact that Shakthi Thirumagan marks Vijay Antony’s 25th film.
A teaser released earlier teased an intense political thriller, opening with the birth of a child and quickly unraveling into a suspenseful narrative about a massive national scam. The mystery surrounding a character named Kittu, suspected to be behind the scandal, adds to the intrigue.
Produced by Vijay Antony Film Corporation, the film features a strong ensemble cast including Vaagai Chandrasekar, Sunil Kripalani, Cell Murugan, Trupthi Ravindra, Kiran, Rini Bot, Riya Jithu, and Master Keshav. The cinematography is by Shelley Calist and editing by Raymond Derrick Crasta.
