MUMBAI– Acclaimed music composer Mithoon has released his latest single Chandaniya, describing it as a deeply emotional track that reflects his signature minimalist style. The song is the second release from his album Master of Melody, following the success of Saiyaara.
Composed by Mithoon and sung by Vishal Mishra, with lyrics by Sayeed Quadri, Chandaniya continues the composer’s exploration of introspective, emotionally driven storytelling through music.
“2025 has been humbling—watching people connect with my music has been truly overwhelming,” Mithoon said. “Chandaniya is a part of my album Master of Melody, which features music rooted in the emotional space I always return to. It’s honest, introspective, and stripped to its essence.”
He added, “The response so far has only heightened my excitement to see how the audience connects with the rest of the album.”
The music video, directed by Dhruwal Patel and Jigar Mulani, mirrors the quiet, emotional tone of the song and features Ashish Chanchlani and Elli AvrRam, whose performances reflect Mithoon’s artistic vision.
Presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series, Chandaniya is now available on T-Series’ official YouTube channel and all major streaming platforms.
Mithoon, known for his emotionally resonant compositions, said his songs are intentionally minimal in orchestration. “For me, usually, you can’t deconstruct my song because it is already very minimalistic. I feel that the song and its emotion are the identities of the song. No matter how much programming you do, or don’t do,” he told IANS in a previous interview about Saiyaara.
He credited his long-time collaborator, filmmaker Mohit Suri, for influencing this stripped-down approach to music production. “Many times, Mohit has heard my compositions only on the piano and gave immediate approval. He has that knack to identify the impact of a song just from the piano—and many times, he finds it better,” Mithoon said.
“I am a poet, a composer, an arranger. So many times, my passion for music can overpower me. Mohit doesn’t let me use it,” he added. (Source: IANS)
