BOSTON — In a landmark event celebrating educational innovation and social impact, Vidya Bharati USA will host its first-ever Leadership Reception on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the Burlington Marriott Hotel in Burlington, Massachusetts.
Bringing together thought leaders, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, the evening will spotlight Vidya Bharati, the world’s largest non-governmental education network. With a legacy of educating over 3.3 million students through 14,000 formal schools and nearly 10,000 informal education centers, Vidya Bharati has become a cornerstone of value-based education across 88% of India’s districts.
Organized by the Indus Education Empowerment Foundation, in collaboration with Aashraya, Edufront, and The Jha Group, the evening is themed “Educate. Empower. Elevate.” and features a dynamic lineup of speakers, panels, and presentations.
Highlights include:
- A fireside chat with Rajendra Prasad Khaitan, National Vice President of Vidya Bharati, offering rare insights into the movement’s future.
- A panel discussion featuring academic leaders, including:
- Ujjayant Chakravorty (Tufts University)
- M.S. Vijay Kumar (MIT)
- Raminder Luther, Dean of the Bertolon School of Business (Salem State University)
- Moderated by Satish Jha, founder the Jha Group.
A special presentation by Venkat Srinivasan, founder of English Helper, showcasing AI-powered learning tools.
Recognition of rising youth leaders through the TYE Change Maker Awards, with Desh Deshpande joining to honor awardees.
The event will also include a Lifetime Achievement Award presented to David Wilcox in recognition of his dedication to global development and social equity.
A major focus of the evening is fundraising to support Vidya Bharati’s grassroots efforts in India. Donation options range from sponsoring individual students ($500) to funding full-scale infrastructure like libraries, science labs, and drinking water systems.
“Every dollar we raise can change a life,” said organizer Satish Jha. “We’re building not just schools, but futures.”

The evening will begin with registration and networking at 5:30 PM, followed by the formal program at 6:15 PM. The night will close with a buffet dinner and live entertainment by popular local band Din Check, celebrating community and culture in true festive spirit.
