NEW DELHI — Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani hailed India’s historic victory in the ICC Women’s World Cup, calling it a triumph that honors the spirit, grace, and dreams of millions of girls across the nation.

India defeated South Africa by 52 runs at the Dr. DY Patil Stadium to capture its first-ever ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup title. After years of near misses, the Women in Blue finally ended their long wait to lift the coveted trophy as captain Harmanpreet Kaur celebrated with a jubilant home crowd.

“Congratulations to Team India!! What a victory for Bharat and her daughters! This is not just a victory in cricket. It is a victory of spirit, of grace, of every girl who ever dared to dream,” Adani wrote on X.

He also shared a patriotic verse expressing his pride in the team’s passion and resilience:

“Har gend pe josh, har shot mei jaan, yeh hai humari Team India Proud of Team India — fierce, fearless and forever Bharat (Passion in every ball, pride in every shot — this is our Team India, the identity of our nation! Proud of Team India — fierce, fearless, and forever Bharat.)”

The win was particularly meaningful for captain Harmanpreet Kaur, one of five players appearing in their fifth World Cup. She made her international debut at the 2009 edition in Australia, where India defeated Pakistan by 10 wickets.

After the final, several legends of Indian cricket joined the team on the field to celebrate before a crowd of nearly 40,000 fans in Navi Mumbai, marking a night that will be remembered as a defining moment for women’s cricket in India. (Source: IANS)
