BOSTON—The 11th annual fundraiser gala by the Boston chapter of Pratham USA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing quality education to India’s underprivileged children, announced that its upcoming gala scheduled for Sept. 21 at Boston’s posh Mandarin Oriental Boston is sold out.

Approximately 250 guests are expected to attend the event. The keynote speaker at the gala will be Vivek Ramaswamy, CEO and founder of Roviant Sciences.

“We are very excited about this year’s gala featuring Vivek Ramaswamy. Vivek has made a name for himself as successful biotech entrepreneur and investor at a very young age and everyone is very keen to hear his story,” said Pratima Abichandani, president of the Pratham Boston Chapter. “We are also excited to welcome a Pratham graduate from India and hear how her life was transformed after going through healthcare vocational training with Pratham.”

Ms. Abichandani said the event is completely sold out and that her organization was thankful to its supporters for believing in and supporting Pratham’s cause of “every child in school and learning well.”

“I believe that education is the single most powerful weapon that society can use to combat poverty and crime,” said Ms. Abichandani.

Last year, about 225 people attended the gala and raised $300,000.

Established in the slums of Mumbai in 1995, Pratham is now one of India’s largest non-governmental education organizations, having affected the lives of more than 50 million underprivileged children in the past two decades. To achieve its mission of “every child in school and learning well,” Pratham develops practical solutions to address gaps in the education system and works in collaboration with India’s governments, communities, educators and industry to increase learning outcomes and influence education policy.

Pratham USA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a consistent four-star rating from Charity Navigator that seeks to raise awareness and mobilize financial resources for our work on the India. For more information or to make a tax-deductible contribution, visit prathamusa.org.
