United India Association Cancels Holi Event Due to Coronavirus, to Refund Money to Those Who Have Bought Tickets

WALTHAM, MA—United India Association of New England, a non-profit community organization that held its annual Holi evert during the past 10 years, is cancelling this year’s event due to Coronavirus.

“UIANE Holi event was cancelled due to ongoing COVID-19 situation in Boston area. State health official has advisory to cancel any big gatherings,” UIANE President Aditi Soni told INDIA New England News. “Cancellation is the right thing to do to help improve this public health situation.”

UIANE’s upcoming event ‘Holi Hai’ in Newton, MA, was scheduled on March 15th. Ms. Soni said those who have already purchased tickets will receive refunds.

“We are issuing full refunds,” said Ms. Soni.  “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to greeting you in our future events.

UIANE holi events in the past have been attended every year by approximately 300 people.
