Mukesh Khanna to quit ‘Waaris’

Mumbai–Actor Mukesh Khanna, who plays Lalaji in “Waaris”, will soon quit the show after his character expires.

“Waaris”, which is based on cultural issues and shows a mother bringing up a girl child as a boy, will soon take a seven-year-leap. Before that, Mukesh will leave the show after his character will die in a thrilling horseriding sequence featuring the actor.

“It was a great experience working on a different show like ‘Waaris’ which focuses on the practices prevailing in the society such as a male child being preferred over a female child.

“Also, the last scene I shot gave me chills literally, and was a very memorable experience. My exit in the show is necessary to take the story forward and I request all viewers to watch the show as it creates awareness,” Mukesh, popularly known as the small screen’s “Shaktimaan”, said in a statement.

“Waaris”, aired on &TV, features Aarti Singh in the lead as Amba.

In a few scenes, he was required to be bare chested and flaunt his six-packs.

Talking about it, he said: “Working out in the gym is a part of my daily routine. I religiously follow it as my role in the show demands my body to look extremely fit and sculptured. I am really fond of Salman sir’s physique.

“He is an inspiration for most of us young actors in the gym,” Leenesh said in a statement. Apart from him, the show will also star Nakuul Mehta and Kunal Jaisingh.

Nikitin’s throne in TV show inspired from ‘Game of Thrones’?

The throne that actor Nikitin Dheer sits on in TV show “Nagarjun – Ek Yoddha” is perhaps inspired by the popular American fantasy drama series “Game of Thrones”.

Nikitin, who plays Astika (a snake) in the show, uses the specially designed throne which features hundreds of artificial snakes on it.

“The reference point may have been the throne from ‘Game of Thrones’ along with many other references. However, we have used snakes as our main element on the throne whereas throne in ‘Game of Thrones’ has knives as that’s part of their storytelling,” Yash Patnaik, producer of “Nagarjun – Ek Yoddha”, said in a statement.

“Apart from that, I wanted our throne to look part contemporary and part ancient as it is Astika’s throne who is an immortal. Hence, it can’t be a throne a Maharaja uses, it has to have more character and a rustic feel to it,” Patnaik added.

Asked if he is a “Game of Thrones” fan, Nikitin said: “I am not a fan of the series as I have not watched it yet.”
