All Indian channels banned in Pakistan

Islamabad–No Indian TV channel can be viewed in the country after October 15, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has said, a media report said on Saturday.

According to The Nation, Pakistani people have demanded action be taken against “all Indian channels”.

The step comes as tensions rise between the two neighbouring nations after India said that it conducted surgical strikes across the Line of Control at terror launch pads in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

According to the reports, crackdown will be held against all cable operators in the country in case the orders are not followed.

It also alleged that Pakistani programmes have been banned in India and Indian artistes have given negative messages against Islamabad which resulted in provoking the public to demand closure of Indian channels.

Erica Fernades excited to dress as a bride

Mumbai– Actress Erica Fernades, who plays Sonakshi Bose in TV show “Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi”, will next be seen in the attire of a Bengali bride for an upcoming wedding sequence. She is excited as it is the first time she will flaunt a bridal look in her life.

“I am really thrilled to shoot the wedding sequence as I am dressing up like a bride for the first time in my life,” Erica said in a statement.

“My bridal look in the show is a big switch from what viewers have seen me as Sonakshi till now. When I tried the sari for the first time, a lot of people said that I actually look like a Bengali,” she added.

Being a Catholic in real life, Erica had never experienced the traditional Hindu customs and rituals.

“Shooting the sangeet, haldi and wedding scenes has been my introduction to these rituals. My co-actors also made me understand the importance of each ritual,” she said.

Aired on Sony Entertainment Television, the show also features Shaheer Sheikh and Supriya Pilgaonkar.

Vikas Khanna wrote poems after surgery

Michelin-starred chef Vikas Khanna, who underwent a minor surgery on his left hand in the capital last week, says that after his surgery, he used to write poems to distract himself.

“I was unwell for the last few days. I had nearly lost my left hand to a huge lump that pressed my nerves. That’s why I got a minor hand surgery done in Delhi,” Khanna, who will be seen in the fifth season of cooking-based reality TV show “MasterChef India”, said in a statement.

“I love my job, cooking gives me happiness. Maybe that’s where I am getting all my strength and energy from. When I was on a bed rest, I was getting really uneasy as I couldn’t do the things I love the most. To distract myself, during my stay in the hospital, I used to write poems,” he added.

Khanna, along with chef Kunal Kapur and restaurateur Zorawar Kalra will be seen judging and mentoring the contestants of the Star Plus show, starting from Saturday.

The fifth season of the show will reiterate how the skill of a chef is acquired over years of learning and practicing with passion, hard work and toil, knowledge and excellence and their spirit to be applauded by one and all.
