ANDOVER, MA–Mrs. Sujyothi “Sue” Shetty passed away on Tuesday, Septebmer 26, 2017. She was 68, and was married to Dr. Santosh “Sam” Shetty, who was a Radiation Oncologist at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.
She was born on December 12, 1948 in India to Mr. MPC and Susheela Shetty.
After they got married in 1969 in India, they came to the US shortly thereafter. They settled in Andover and lived there for 45+ years. Sujyothi first worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance as assistant to the Executive Vice President.
After taking time off to raise her two children, she became a travel agent as her second career. She was actively involved in the Holy Family Auxillary and Women’s Guild, and supported the Chinmaya Mission in Andover.
After retirement, she enjoyed spending winters in Fort Lauderdale and returning every summer. Her favorite activities included travelling. She enjoyed holidays and special events, celebrating with family and friends.
She had a zest for life and though it was not her career, she was the ultimate party planner and loved hosting. Sujyothi is predeceased by her husband Dr. Santosh Shetty.
She leaves behind a son, Shawn, daugher, Sajini, son-in-law, Chethan, and the grandsons she adored, Elan and Alec, all of Andover, and a sister, Mrs. Surekha Adyanthya of Mumbai India.
She will be missed by the extended family and friends. VIsiting hours are on Friday September 29, 2017 from 10am to 12noon with Puja to follow at Driscoll Funeral Home in Haverhill, Ma.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Chinmaya Mission, Andover or American Cancer Society.
