Sonu Nigam to Perform and Inspire Emerging Artists at Subhash Ghai’s Cadence Music Festival

MUMBAI — Singer Sonu Nigam is set to take the stage at the upcoming Cadence Music Festival, an annual event founded by filmmaker Subhash Ghai that aims to connect established artists with emerging talent.

The three-day festival will run from March 30 to April 1 at the Whistling Woods International campus, transforming the venue into a hub for music and creative collaboration while highlighting the role of music in cinema.

The event will open on March 30 at 4:30 p.m. with an inaugural ceremony headlined by singer and composer Kailash Kher.

On March 31, the festival will feature a lineup that includes composer duo Salim–Sulaiman and Sonu Nigam, bringing together prominent figures from the music industry to engage with and inspire young performers.

Ghai said the festival is designed to give aspiring artists a platform to learn from industry veterans while developing their own creative identity.

“At Whistling Woods, we have always believed that music is the heartbeat of the creative arts. The Cadence Music Festival 2026 is not just a celebration of melodies; it is a platform where the wisdom of legends meets the fire of young ambition. Our mission remains to provide a space where the next generation can find their own rhythm and carry forward the rich legacy of Indian music,” he said.

The festival will conclude on April 1 with a full day of performances. Singer Ameya Dabli will open the final day at 12 p.m., followed by a session featuring flutist Naveen Kumar at 4 p.m.

The closing ceremony, scheduled for 4:30 p.m., will feature singer Sukhwinder Singh, bringing the event to a close with a performance by one of India’s most celebrated vocalists.

Organizers say the festival continues to serve as a platform for mentorship and artistic exchange, helping nurture the next generation of musicians. (Source: IANS)
