MUMBAI, India — Actress Shilpa Shetty has taken a moment to reflect on the year 2016, describing it as a time marked by both personal loss and professional milestones.

Sharing a post on Instagram, Shetty looked back on what she called a bittersweet period in her life, recalling the painful loss of her father, Surendra Shetty, who passed away in 2016, while also acknowledging the fulfillment of some long-held professional dreams.

“2016 : walk down memory lane…So many highs, so many lows.. watched a dream come true with my book, celebrated milestones and … a painful goodbye to daddy. But Cest la vie.. keep making memories, cause that’s all our souls take with them (sic),” she wrote.

Shetty has frequently remembered her late father on significant occasions. On December 22 last year, marking his birth anniversary, she shared cherished photographs with him and wrote, “Cheers to 85, Dad! I hope you are enjoying your single malt up there.”

Earlier, on October 11, she posted an emotional tribute on his ninth death anniversary, sharing a childhood photograph in which her father is seen tickling a young Shilpa, leaving her smiling brightly. “Miss your smile .. Miss YOU Daddy ❤️ 9 years today 🙏,” she wrote.

Surendra Shetty died on October 11, 2016, at his residence in Versova after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

On the professional front, Shetty is set to appear next in “KD: The Devil,” directed by Prem. The film stars Dhruva Sarja in the lead role, alongside Sanjay Dutt, V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Reeshma Nanaiah, Jisshu Sengupta, and Nora Fatehi in supporting roles. (Source: IANS)
