Shaan Praises Mumbai’s Resilience, Says Residents Stay Positive Despite Challenges

MUMBAI — Singer Shaan praised the resilience and positive spirit of Mumbai’s residents, saying the city’s people know how to stay cheerful despite everyday challenges.

Speaking to IANS on the red carpet of a recent event, the singer reflected on the energy and optimism of Mumbaikars even as the city continues to deal with issues such as infrastructure constraints, travel difficulties, and pollution.

“Millions of people come every day in our city. Of course, infrastructure, travel, pollution, there are many things that are problematic. But we are slowly getting good solutions and answers for all of them,” Shaan said.

He added that what stands out most about the city is the attitude of its people.

“One very good thing is that people in Mumbai are still happy despite all this. We should all be proud of the people of Mumbai. We keep ourselves happy in all these situations,” he said.

Pointing to daily life in the city, Shaan cited the example of commuters on Mumbai’s crowded local trains.

“You can see how people travel in our local trains. You can see people smiling wherever you look. That is what I try to do. That is why I feel we should give happiness to people whenever we get a chance,” he said.

Shaan has been one of the most popular voices in Indian music for decades and is widely remembered for his pop hit “Tanha Dil,” which marked 26 years this year and continues to resonate with audiences from the 1980s and 1990s.

Over the years, he has delivered numerous Bollywood chart-toppers, including “Chand Sifarish,” “Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh,” and “Wo Ladki Hai Kahan.”

On the personal front, Shaan is married to Radhika Mukherjee. The couple has two sons, Soham Mukherjee and Shubh Mukherjee. (Source: IANS)
