Rhiti Tiwari Opens Up About Pressure of Being Manoj Tiwari’s Daughter, Says She Receives Threats
Mumbai — Singer Rhiti Tiwari, daughter of Bhojpuri actor, singer and politician Manoj Tiwari, has spoken about the pressure that comes with being the child of a prominent public figure, saying she has received death and rape threats over comments she has made.
During an episode of “Bigg Boss 20,” Rhiti said she has “always been under double pressure” because her statements are often associated with her father.
“Whatever I say, it becomes ‘Manoj Tiwari’s daughter said it., and because of that I get death threats, rape threats because I am his daughter. My opinion becomes his opinion in the eyes of people,” Rhiti said.
Rhiti is following in her father’s footsteps by entering the “Bigg Boss” house.
Manoj Tiwari appeared as a contestant on “Bigg Boss 4” in 2010, a season that included several clashes between him and fellow contestants, including Dolly Bindra.
Before entering “Bigg Boss 20,” Rhiti recalled watching her father on the reality show as a child and waiting to see him in each episode.
“I remember watching every episode as a kid. I would literally wait to see him on screen. I would miss him every day, but at the same time, there was something exciting about seeing my father live in this completely different world,” she said.
Rhiti has described her own appearance on the show as surreal, with the roles now reversed as she stays inside the “Bigg Boss” house while her father watches from outside.
Manoj Tiwari began his entertainment career as a singer before becoming a major name in Bhojpuri cinema. His acting career included films such as “Sasura Bada Paise Wala,” “Daroga Babu I Love You,” “Bandhan Tute Na,” “Dharti Kahe Pukar Ke,” “Damad Ji,” “Ganga,” “Bhole Shankar” and “Devra Bhail Deewana.”
He later appeared on television programs including “Welcome – Baazi Mehmaan Nawazi Ki” and hosted or appeared on music-based reality shows such as “Sur Sangram,” “Bharat Ki Shaan” and “Chak De Bachche.” (Source: IANS)
