Renu and Kedar Gupta to Keynote Vision-Aid 2024 Annual Event in Littleton MA on July 21st

LEXINGTON, MA— Vision-Aid, a non-profit organization serving the visually impaired, announced that Renu and Kedar Gupta will be the keynote speakers and chief guests at its 2024 annual event, “The Dancer’s Pledge,” on Sunday, July 21st, 2024, at 4:00 PM EST in Littleton, MA.

This year, Vision-Aid is celebrating a major milestone of 20 years of enabling, educating and empowering over 100,000 underprivileged visually impaired in India, since its founding in 2004. The 2024 event will feature a unique Broadway-style dance production “The Dancer’s Pledge”.

This show features over 40 talented dancers and several dance teachers from New England, working under the guidance of renowned and award-winning dance choreographer and producer from India, Kalaimamani Madurai R. Muralidaran, assisted by Boston area dance teachers and artistic directors Jeyanthi Ghatraju and Sripriya Natarajan Moorthy.

Kedar Gupta

Mr. Gupta came to the USA in 1968 to pursue higher studies. Ms. joined him in 1975 after their marriage. Together, they have founded multiple successful companies, starting with GT Equipment in 1994 with just $1,000. This venture evolved into GT Solar, which became a global leader in solar technology, culminating in a successful IPO in July 2008.

The couple later co-founded ARC Energy, focusing on improving large diameter sapphire crystals for LED applications. ARC Energy gained national attention in 2010 when President Obama visited to highlight its success as an example of American entrepreneurship.

In 2013, the Guptas established RKS Ventures, a family-run investment firm that supports innovative startups. Their portfolio includes investments in The Engine (MIT), TechStars, Project 11, and One Way Venture.

Beyond their business ventures, the couple is deeply involved in philanthropy. They have supported various organizations, including the Boys and Girls Club of Nashua, Pratham, Akshaya Patra, Vision Aid, MS Society, and the NH High Tech Council. They are also dedicated to programs that help young children with their educational and other needs.

Mr. Gupta holds a master’s and Ph.D. from Stony Brook University and is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur (1968). He recently published a book “Carving My Destiny” on his entrepreneurial journey. Ms. Gupta completed her accounting degree from Lindenwood Colleges.
