BOSTON– The International Institute of New England, a non-profit serving refugees and immigrants in Massachusetts and New Hampshire for 100 years, recently expanded their programs to include a robust Legal Immigration Forms Service (LIFS) and a popular Adult Continuing Education school to offer low-cost, high-quality service options for immigrants who might not qualify for free programs.

LEGAL SERVICES

IINE’s legal forms service helps immigrants with: adjustment of status, work authorization, Green Card, Marriage Green Cards, family reunification, and U.S. Citizenship applications.

Their experienced staff are all accredited by the U.S. Dept. of Justice and offer professional assistance at a rate that is 10% of what a law firm might charge, the institute said in a statement. The organization serves clients in offices in Boston, Lowell, and Manchester, NH.

ADULT CONTINUING EDUCATION

Open to all:

  • In Boston, IINE offers ESOL courses and Learner’s Permit Preparation class for English language learners. Tuition is very affordable, and some free classes are available for eligible students. ESOL is offered year-round at multiple levels and in morning or evening sessions.
  • Also in Boston, two courses are available to adults with work authorization who have intermediate English skills: Healthcare Services Certificate Program, and a very popular Hospitality Training Program. Both courses provide hands-on skills training, English for Employment coursework, and job placement assistance to help graduates find good paying jobs in hospitals, hotels, restaurants, or casinos. 90% of IINE training graduates have gone on to careers at some of the area’s best hotels, including: Encore Boston Harbor, the Fairmont Copley Plaza, the Intercontinental, Westin Waterfront and many more. Applicants can find information online at: iine.org/learn.

Specialized public programs for specific types of students:

  • In Lowell, IINE is offering a CNA course in collaboration with other community-based providers, the Lowell Public School system, and D’Youville Wellness, a senior-care provider that is ready to employ successful graduates of the program.
  • Together with Encore Entertainment, MassHire.org, and CONNECT in Chelsea, IINE recently launched “Learn Here, Earn Here.org,” a skills training curriculum developed specifically to help immigrants who live in Chelsea, Everett, Malden, and Revere acquire the knowledge they need to be successfully employed at a local hotel, restaurant, or casino. These classes are free to qualified residents of those towns.
