MUMBAI– Singer, composer, and lyricist Prateeksha Srivastava has officially made her Bollywood playback debut with the emotionally resonant track “Mila Tujhe” from the romantic drama Aap Jaisa Koi, starring R. Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
The song marks Prateeksha’s second professional collaboration with renowned composer Vishal Mishra, following their work together on “Holi Aayi Re”, featured in Coke Studio 2025. In Mila Tujhe, music is composed by Justin Prabhakaran with lyrics penned by Raj Shekhar.
Reflecting on the experience, Prateeksha said, “Mila Tujhe is my second collaboration with Vishal Mishra, but it’s my very first as a playback singer in Bollywood—and I couldn’t have asked for a better debut. This song is exactly the kind of music I love to sing—it’s about the quiet kind of love, the sweetness that comes from simply being in love.”
Describing it as a “soft love anthem for the soft-love era,” she added, “Working with Justin Prabhakaran, Raj Shekhar, and Vishal Mishra has been like working with a dream team. And the icing on the cake is being the playback voice for a film starring R. Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh.”
Directed by Vivek Soni, Aap Jaisa Koi tells a tender and unconventional love story between Shrirenu Tripathi (played by Madhavan), a reserved, middle-aged Sanskrit professor, and Madhu Bose (played by Fatima), a lively French instructor.
Speaking about the film, Madhavan shared: “Aap Jaisa Koi is unlike any love story I’ve done before. It’s quiet, awkward, and deeply human. Shrirenu is one of the most layered characters I’ve ever played—someone who craves connection but doesn’t know how to ask for it. There’s so much emotion beneath his silence. This film isn’t loud or dramatic—it’s gentle, patient, and deeply moving.”
He continued, “It speaks to everyone who has ever felt unseen in life or in love. Aap Jaisa Koi is a reminder that it’s never too late to start living for yourself, to rediscover love, and to open your heart.”
Aap Jaisa Koi premiered on Netflix on July 11 and has been praised for its sensitive storytelling and heartfelt performances. (Source: IANS)
