SHREWSBURY, MA–Motumal “Ram” Navani of Shrewsbury, MA passed away on December 15, 2017. He was 86.

Mr. Navani graduated from Hubli College of Engineering in Karnataka, India in 1956. He was also a gifted cricket player and played for the All India cricket team in the 1950s.

He worked for the Indian Railways as a Chief Civil Engineer, designing and constructing railroad bridges for more than thirty years, according to his obituary on McNally & Watson website.

After his retirement in 1989, Mr. Navani spent time with his family and caring for his six grandchildren in Massachusetts.

Mr. Navani is survived by his wife, son, daughter, nephew, son in law, daughters in law, two brothers and six grandchildren. He will be cremated in a private ceremony on Monday, December 18, 2017.

After the private ceremony, a memorial and prayer service, open to all, will take place on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Westborough Gurdwara Sahib, 168 Flanders Road, Westborough, MA 01581. Following the memorial and prayer service there will be dinner. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mr. Navani’s life.
