WINCHESTER, MA—Avid golfer Madhu Midha of Winchester, MA, passed away at home on February 28, 2017. She was 63, and is survived by her husband, Dr. Sail Midha, a well-known cardiologist; her daughter Anjali Midha; her son Gaurav Midha; and her daughter Dr. Monica Midha.
Other members of her family include her brother Shashi Raj Ahuja of New Delhi, India; her sister Vinay Sethi of Faridabad, India; her sister Sushil Dhiman of New Delhi, India; her sister Santosh Chawla of Houston, TX; along with her cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Madhu was a founding board member of the Boston Cardiac Foundation, and volunteered with numerous other charities in the greater Boston area. When she wasn’t dedicating her time to helping others, she loved playing tennis and golf. A long-time member of the Bellevue Golf Club of Melrose, she won the ladies championship for both the 9 hole and 18 hole golf leagues. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Madhu was born and raised in New Delhi, India. She graduated from Delhi University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1973. Shortly thereafter, she founded a Montessori school which quickly grew to a class size of 50 students. In 1978 she married Dr. Salil Midha and moved to the United States.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Gately Funeral Home, located at 79 W. Foster St. in Melrose, MA. The memorial service will be held on Thursday March 2, 2017 at 1:00PM at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery, located at 580 Mount Auburn Street, in Cambridge, MA. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
