NEMA’s Annual Christmas Celebrations in Wayland This Saturday, Featuring Cultural Programs and Food Delicacies From Malayali Chef at Paani Restaurant

WAYLAND, MA–New England Malayalee Association, known as NEMA, will host its annual Christmas celebration this Saturday, Dec 9th, at Wayland Middle School in Wayland, MA, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

“Join us for a magical evening of holiday cheer at the NEMA Christmas Celebrations,” NEMA said in a statement. “We’re bringing the spirit of the season to life with an unforgettable program that promises to warm your heart and leave you in awe.”

The festivities kick off with a professional symphony orchestra and Children’s Choir, enchanting the audience with Christmas melodies.

An eagerly anticipated highlight is the back-to-back dance extravaganza, reminiscent of the iconic Chitrahaar from the 80s and 90s, featuring a variety of dance performances set to everyone’s favorite nostalgic tunes, the statement said.

“This event fosters a joyful sense of community and embodies everything we stand for – unity and togetherness,” NEMA President Anu Nair and NEMA Vice President Priyanka Ranjith said in the statement. “Behind NEMA’s mission, you’ll find a dedicated board of 17 members and an energetic executive committee of nearly 100 individuals, all actively driving our efforts forward.”

Sreejith Venu, NEMA Arts Secretary, and joint-arts leads Vandana Pillai and Shruti Jay, emphasize the dedication required behind the scenes. They added: “Christmas is program-heavy, and successfully executing a 3-hour show with nearly 250 participants demands meticulous planning and hard work.”

Sreedhar Balakrishnan, NEMA General Secretary, adds another layer of excitement, revealing, “Planning the Christmas menu is a tremendous effort. We strive to make it as authentic as possible to immerse everyone in the festive spirit.”

To achieve this authenticity, NEMA has enlisted the culinary expertise of a Malayali chef from Paani restaurant, who will be preparing local delicacies that not only tantalize your taste buds but also infuse the event with an authentic touch of Kerala’s rich culinary heritage.
