Middlesex County, MA– Today, Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan announced that four men from Rhode Island have been arrested in connection to multiple burglaries targeting the Indian community in Massachusetts, ending a years long investigation.
DA Ryan stated that this was a sophisticated burglary ring that used temple membership lists and GPS tracking devices to target victims.The suspects were also able to avoid camera’s and security systems by turning off the internet at the homes making it difficult for investigators to track them down.
The investigation was conducted by Massachusetts State Police, Middlesex District Attorneys office, Rhode Island State Police, Connecticut State Police, and many local police departments. The arrests were made in Rhode Island by the State Police and search warrants were executed at four separate locations, where jewelry and Indian Rupees were found.
DA Ryan said that the suspects are facing 95 counts in related to the break-ins and did not rule out charging the suspects with hate crimes. More information about the investigation will be released in the coming days and weeks.
