Mouni Roy, Suraj Nambiar Confirm Divorce, Ask for ‘Privacy and Dignity’

MUMBAI — Celebrity couple Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar have confirmed their divorce amid growing speculation about their relationship.
The couple shared a joint Instagram post Thursday confirming that they are parting ways and asking for privacy.
“We note with dismay the unnecessary and intrusive attention into our personal lives by certain quarters of the media. We would like to state that we have decided to part ways and are taking the necessary time to address matters privately and amicably. Attempts have been made to sensationalize our private lives by circulation of fictitious narratives and blatant falsehoods, which do not reflect the reality of our relationship,” they wrote.
“After thoughtful reflection on evolving personal priorities, we have mutually chosen to move forward on separate paths with respect and understanding. At this point, we are focused on navigating this phase thoughtfully and privately. We will endeavor to cherish our friendship in times to come. We sincerely appreciate your understanding, respect for our privacy, and the continued support extended to us during this time,” they added.
In the caption, the couple wrote, “Humbly requesting everyone to give us privacy and dignity and not give out any false stories about me or Suraj. Expecting all of you to give us privacy in these hard times. Humble request to all the media houses to please stop. Love.”
Roy’s personal life had been under scrutiny in recent days after social media users noticed that she and Nambiar appeared to have unfollowed each other on Instagram, fueling speculation about a possible separation.
Roy and Nambiar first met at a New Year’s celebration in Dubai in 2018 after being introduced through mutual friends. They quickly formed a close connection, though distance was a challenge early in the relationship, with Nambiar living in Dubai and Roy based in Mumbai.
Despite the long-distance arrangement, they frequently traveled to spend time together.
The couple married in 2022 in Goa, holding a Malayali wedding ceremony followed by a Bengali ceremony. (Source: IANS)
