Kailash Shukla of Boxborough Passes Away at 69

BOXBOROUGH, MA–Kailash Chandra Shukla, devoted husband and father of two children, and grandfather of two grandchildren, passed away at the age of 69.

Kailash, known as KC to those close to him, was born on 15 August 1950 to Som Kant and Laxmi in Kanpur, India. He graduated from IIT Kanpur in 1972 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then moved to New York state and earned a masters degree from SUNY Buffalo in 1975. On 14 May 1977, he married Manjul Dubey from Ujjain. The following year they moved to Massachusetts where they settled down and raised a daughter and son: Neha and Neeraj. He worked for the Thermo Electron Corporation for 25 years before moving on to serve the nation as a project manager for the U.S. Army at the Natick Soldier Center.

KC had a passion for history and anthropology and he could often be found on social occasions locating his stentorian presence. He would usually be enthralling friends with interesting facts regarding the origins of human societies. He could be sometimes be found reflecting on life at Walden pond or playing cards at a bridge club. KC was known for his quick wit, iconic laugh, and excellent choice of hats.

Kailash was preceded in death by his father, Som Kant, his mother, Laxmi, his sister Omi and her husband Santosh,and his nephew Uday. He is survived by his wife Manjul, his daughter Neha, his son Neeraj, his son-in-law Nick, his grandchildren Lana and Roman, his brother Mahesh, his sisters Nimi and Meena, and a large extended family.

The cremation will take place on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 3-5pm at Carrier Family Funeral Home and Crematorium, 38 Range Road, Route 111, Windham, NH 03087.
