Jass Manak Faces Backlash Over Throwing Money at Fiancée During Engagement

Mumbai — Punjabi singer Jass Manak has drawn criticism on social media after a video from his engagement ceremony with fiancée Komal Tanwar showed him throwing currency notes at her during the celebrations.

The clip, which has circulated widely online, shows Manak showering money on Tanwar as she stands beside him while family members and guests join in the festivities.

Soon after the video surfaced, several social media users criticized the gesture, with some questioning the practice of throwing money during wedding and engagement celebrations.

“That’s extremely disrespectful,” one user commented.

Another wrote, “Have some respect for money.”

A third user said, “That girl should stop the dance or change the place! As its a disrespect towards her!.”

Another comment read, “Oh, what a disrespectful act, bro. His wife is dancing, and who is even doing this? Jass Manak has changed now. He has completely lost all decency.”

“It looks disrespectful to me… she’s your wife, not a bar dancer. There’s a way to shower money on someone as well,” another user wrote.

Some social media users, however, defended Manak and described the gesture as part of the celebrations.

Manak recently got engaged to fashion designer and creative stylist Komal Tanwar in an intimate ceremony attended by close family and friends. The couple wore coordinated traditional Indian outfits for the occasion.

Manak is known for several popular Punjabi songs, including “Lehanga,” “Prada,” “Viah” and “Suit Punjabi.” “Lehanga” became one of the biggest hits of his career, while “Prada” helped establish him as a prominent young voice in Punjabi music. (Source: IANS)
