“It’s The Time to Disco” With “Din Check on April 24, Supporting Ekal Vidyalaya

WATERTOWN, MA–Blinking lights, colorful dance floors, glittery attire, flared bell bottoms, shiny head bands and synth heavy voices – disco of the ‘80s will always remain cemented in Bollywood as an era of bold, loud, and unforgettable music.

After a long hiatus, it is finally time to celebrate life! Ekal Vidyalaya in collaboration with New England’s premier Bollywood band “Din Check” presents a high octane fun musical performance “It’s The Time To Disco’ on Sunday, April 24, from 4 – 7 pm at the Mosesian Center for the Arts, Watertown, MA.

Ticket prices include free covered parking and refreshments. All proceeds support Ekal Vidyalaya in bringing education and empowerment to rural India.

Din Check – a premier New England band, has been consistently entertaining audiences by their lively and rhythmic performances, for over 12 years. The band has a full ensemble of vocalists, guitarists, drummers, pianists, and a violinist, and is popular for its high energy shows that appeal to people of all ages. Din Check’s repertoire also spans multiple languages as well as unique fusions or “mashups” of popular American rock music and Indian music.

Ekal – a movement rooted in kindness, love, and literacy, is the largest grassroots level non-governmental education & development movement involved in integrated & holistic development of rural & tribal India and Nepal. The main activity undertaken in this movement is to run one-teacher schools (known as Ekal Vidyalayas) all over India, in the remotest rural & tribal villages to take the education to every child.

The evening will feature live music, dance performances by students of Ekta Dance Academy, a lively photo booth, local vendors displaying clothing, jewelry etc., tea and refreshments from Masala Art (included in ticket price), a cash bar on premises, and a state-of-the-art venue, with free covered parking.
