DALLAS– A family of four from Hyderabad, India, was tragically killed in a fiery car crash in Texas after their vehicle was struck head-on by a mini truck reportedly speeding in the wrong lane.

The victims were identified as Venkat Bejugam, his wife Tejaswini Cholleti, and their two children, Siddarth and Mrida Bejugam. Originally from the Suchitra area of Secunderabad, the family had been living in Sutton Fields, a residential community in Aubrey, a suburb near Dallas.

The fatal crash occurred while the family was returning to Dallas after visiting relatives in Atlanta. According to reports, a mini truck traveling in the wrong direction collided head-on with their vehicle, which immediately caught fire from the impact. All four occupants died at the scene from severe burn injuries.

Due to the extent of the burns, U.S. authorities have initiated forensic procedures—including dental record analysis and DNA testing—to positively identify the victims before releasing the remains to their family.

Non-profit organization TEAM Aid, which assists expatriates in crisis and helps with the repatriation of deceased individuals, is coordinating with the family’s relatives and friends to provide logistical support.

“The bodies of the deceased will be brought back to Hyderabad for the last rites. DNA tests are being conducted to confirm the identities, and once that process is completed, the remains will be handed over to their relatives,” said a representative from TEAM Aid.

Authorities are continuing the identification process and completing formalities related to transportation and repatriation. Further updates are expected in the coming days. (Source: IANS)
