Indian-American Musician Guitar Prasanna to Perform in Boston on June 29

BOSTON–Indian American musician Guitar Prasanna, who is a virtuoso with Indian Carnatic classical, rock and jazz, will spend a whole day performing and teaching at the Boston Center for the Arts located at Tremont Street in downtown Boston on Saturday June 29th, 2024.

It marks the 20th anniversary of his landmark album, “Be the Change”, which is a multifaceted jazz album with strong Carnatic infusion.

Prasanna has performed with A.R. Rahman, on the soundtrack of “Million Dollar Arm”, “The Hundred Foot Journey” and “Coke Studio India”.; and with Anuradha Palakurthi and Hariharan for Ekal Vidyalaya.  (https://www.guitarprasanna.com/discography/).

Prasanna is on a national and international tour with a very deep audience engagement at each stop. In Boston, there are going to be three events:

  • “Prasanna Plays ’80s Hits of Ilaiyaraaja” – Concert (Time: 1 pm – 3 pm)
  • “Indian Carnatic Concepts in Jazz and Rock” – Masterclass by Prasanna (Time: 5 pm – 6 pm)
  • “Be the Change – 20th Anniversary Concert” – Guitar Prasanna Band Featuring Bill Urmson on Bass and Harvey Wirht on Drums (7 pm – 9 pm).
