MUMBAI– Singer Armaan Malik and hip-hop artist Ikka have teamed up for the first time on their latest release, Maybe, a lively track that captures the thrill and playfulness of new love.
“This track is different from some of my previous work, and that’s what made it so exciting,” Ikka said. “‘Maybe’ let us explore a more romantic and lighthearted side, and Armaan’s voice is just incredible — it elevates the whole song.”
Ikka added that the duo set out to create a feel-good track that brings a smile to listeners’ faces and evokes the butterflies of falling in love. “I’m really proud of what we’ve created together,” he said.
Armaan Malik described Maybe as having an “edgy, intoxicating energy” unlike anything he has done before. “It’s moody, bold, and still super melodic. This also marks my first collaboration with Ikka, and honestly, it was seamless. The vibe was just there, and that reflects in the track,” he said.
Maybe is the latest release from Royal Stag Packaged Drinking Water Boombox, a cross-genre music platform.
Ikka, a childhood friend of rappers Raftaar and Lil Golu, began his career as part of Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Mafia Mundeer group before branching out as a solo artist and lyricist. His 2016 hit Half Window Down, produced by Dr Zeus and featuring Neetu Singh, was originally written for Diljit Dosanjh but became a breakout success after Ikka recorded it himself. He released his debut solo album, I, in 2020 under Mass Appeal India, and has contributed numerous tracks to Bollywood films. In 2024, he served as a judge on MTV Hustle alongside Raftaar.
Armaan Malik, who began singing at the age of four, made his Bollywood debut as a child singer in 2007 with Bum Bum Bole from Taare Zameen Par. He has since delivered several hit tracks, including Bol Do Na Zara (Azhar), Main Hoon Hero Tera (Hero), Besabriyaan (M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story), and Jab Tak from the same film. (Source: IANS)
