CAMBRIDGE, MA— IIT AGNE and iit2016-Leadership Conference are organizing a symposium on “Boundary-less Education: Connect, and Collaborate to Transform Education” on March 5 in Cambridge. The event is free for the attendees.
“It is no longer business as usual in the education field. The blurring and dissolution of boundaries is a necessary condition for achieving the goals of education today, be it to meet the rapid development agenda of nations that require expanded access and quality, or be it the need for increased agility and relevance to address rapidly changing skills requirements of the marketplace,” the organizers said in a statement. “An emergent educational landscape characterized by abundance of content, connectivity and community is enabling boundaries to be blurred, from several perspectives: between disciplines, between sectors, between the physical and the virtual and across international borders.”
The symposium on March 5th, 2016 brings a panel of experts, thought leaders and practitioners from academia and industry to illuminate some of the transformative opportunities presented by the blurring of boundaries in education, as well as the systemic “readiness” conditions for success.
“Join us for a lively discussion to address the implications of blurred boundaries in an era of digitally intensive teaching and learning,” the statement said. “Can we provide quality education at scale and relevant to the demands of an effective workforce? Can we foster new opportunities for entrepreneurship and venture?”
The panel discussion will focus on the transformation of education driven by the rise of digital learning, the sharing economy and globalization.
