IARI Scholastic Rated Chess Tournament Announced for Young Players

PROVIDENCE, RI–The India Association of Rhode Island (IARI) will host the IARI Scholastic Rated Chess Tournament, a USCF-affiliated event designed for students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

The tournament will take place on May 16, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the RI Hindu Temple.

Open to players of all skill levels, the event aims to bring together young chess enthusiasts for a day of competitive play, learning, and sportsmanship. Whether participants are experienced tournament players or just beginning their chess journey, the tournament offers an exciting opportunity to challenge themselves and connect with fellow students who share a passion for the game.
