IAGB to Host 5K Run Walk Supporting Education and Vision Initiatives

BURLINGTON, MA–The India Association of Greater Boston (IAGB) has announced its upcoming IAGB 5K Run Walk for Education & Vision, a community-focused event aimed at supporting education and vision rehabilitation initiatives.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Depot Park along the Minuteman Community Bikeway.

Organizers say the 5K will bring together families, students, and residents from across the region to raise awareness and support for two nonprofit organizations: the Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation and Vision-Aid. Both organizations work to improve opportunities for underserved communities through education access and vision-related services.

Participants will have the option to run or walk the course at their own pace, making the event accessible to individuals of all ages and fitness levels. Event organizers also announced that the first 100 people to register will receive a complimentary event T-shirt.

IAGB President Nilesh Agrawal described the event as “a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together in support of education and vision empowerment.”

Vice President Deepak Garg said the initiative reflects the organization’s “commitment to service and collective well-being.”

Meanwhile, IAGB Director and 5K event lead Vijayendra Bhargava said organizing the event has been an inspiring experience and expressed enthusiasm about welcoming participants for “a purposeful and enjoyable morning.”

Founded as one of the oldest and most active Indian-American organizations in New England, IAGB is known for its work in community service, cultural programming, and civic engagement initiatives throughout the region.
