IAGB Officials Outline Republic Day Mela Program, Logistics and Instructions

BURLINGTON, MA—The India Association of Greater Boston, a non-profit community organization known as IAGB, is ready with their Republic Day Mela debut this year, with eight different types of competitions and a first-time ever live Antakshari among four semifinalists on Saturday, Jan. 28 at Burlington High School in Burlington, MA.

INDIA New England News sat down with IAGB President Jaya Voruganti and IAGB Treasurer Sanjay Gowda to outline the day-long Republic Day Mela program, logistics and instructions to participants and event attendees.

In addition to traditional cultural programs at Republic Day, the highlight of the all-day event this year will be IAGB’s first ever Antakshari competition. The event is free to all IAGB members. The entrance fee for non-members is $5.

The IAGB Republic Day Mela will also feature several other contests and activities for a diverse audience of all ages and talents, including: Patriotic Theme Art, Kite Making Competition, Science Quiz for Kids, Chess Tournament, Geography Bee, Patriotic Sonnet/Poem Writing, Trivia Quiz, Essay Competition and Cultural Program.
