IAGB Invites Nominations from Indian-American Students for Community Youth Excellence Awards

BURLINGTON, MA– India Association of Greater Boston, a non-profit community organization popularily known as IAGB, is inviting nominations from Indian-American students for Community Youth Excellence Awards.  The deadline for applying is Friday August 5, 2016. The two winners will be honored at India Day celebration on Hatch Shell in Boston.

iagb-logo“For the second year in a row, India Association of Greater Boston (IAGB) will be presenting merit-based Community Youth Excellence Awards to Indian-American students. Eligible nominees must be rising junior or senior high school students of Indian origin, who reside in Massachusetts or attend school in Massachusetts,” IAGB said in a statement.

The India Day 2016 Program Committee will recognize two students and each will receive a plaque recognizing his or her achievement along with a cash prize. Nominees must demonstrate outstanding achievement in areas including:

  1. Community service
  2. Academic achievement
  3. Arts and music
  4. Sports
  5. Professional achievement.

Applicants must include a brief summary outlining why the individual should be considered for the award and submit nominations via e mail to iagb@iagb.org.

Deadline is Friday August 5, 2016. Late submissions will not be accepted. Selected individuals will be notified by e-mail and recognized at India Day 2016 on Sunday, August 14, 2016, at the Hatch Shell in Boston.

Founded in 1962, IAGB strives to foster a strong Indian cultural and community presence in the Greater Boston area.
