Hindi Manch Brings Another Superstar to its National Convention: Playback Singer Kavita Krishnamurthy

WALTHAM, MA– Hindi Manch, which is organizing a National Hindi Convention in Boston later this month, is brining another superstar to its national convention: Bollywood playback singer Kavita Krishnamurthy, who has recorded more than 18,000 songs in 16 languages.

Earlier, Hindi Manch announced that renowned Bollywood actress Deepti Naval, who starred in Chashme Buddoor, Saath Saath, Kissi Se Na Kehna, Katha and Rang Birangi, among other hit films, will attend Hindi Manch National Convention, which scheduled for Nov. 30-Dec. 2, 2018.  Ms. Naval will grace the poetry session where US-based poets in Hindi, Urdu and related dialects like Awadhi, Brijbhasha, Bhojpuri, Khadiboli and Bundelkhandi, among others, will recite their poems.

Krishnamurthy will serve as one of the judges for the final singing competition of Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa at Hindi Manch National Convention dubbed as Hindi Manch Rashtriya Mahotsav, or HMRM. The Sangeet Vibhag of Hindi Manch manages this program.  Sa-Re-Ga-Pa-Pa features singers, as singles or duets, in various age groups.  The singers choose specific Karaoke tracks of Hindi movie songs, and are judged in qualification rounds and final by an independent panel.

Hindi Manch held qualification auditions for Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa on October 28 and November 4.  The semi-final and finals will be on December 1.  Qualified singers from outside Massachusetts and New Hampshire will get $100 each to help offset their travel costs.  Singers will also qualify for a People’s Choice award as well in the final round.  Finalists will be showcased on TV Asia and Radio Music India as well.

Hindi Manch’s Sangeet Vibhag is managed by an enthusiastic team of 12 that includes Meena Sundaram (Chair), Sneh Jaisingh (Co-Chair), Jawed Wahid, Kumkum Malik, Madhu Mathur Anand, Namita Deshpande, Sailesh Salgar, Pankaj Shah, Rajiv Gangurde, Rakesh Chauhan, Harish Dang and Mouli Lala.
