BOSTON— With a total annual compensation of $35.99 million, Hari Ravichandran, CEO of Endurance International Group, topped the India New England News list of the 15 highest-paid Indian-Americans working for public companies and government in New England. Ravichandran was followed by two executives from Connecticut: Akhil Johri, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of United Technologies at $12.37 million; and Dinesh C. Paliwal, Chairman and CEO of Harman International at $10.40 million.
“In addition to records of public companies, we also looked at individuals paid by the state,” said Upendra Mishra, publisher of India New England News and the IndUS Business Journal. “University of Massachusetts’s Chancellor Kumble Subhaswamy and Professor Murugappan Muthukumar also made to the list of the highest paid Indian-American executives in New England.”
It was sad to see not even a single woman in this list, added Mishra.
“As we study salary patterns, the gender discrimination is very obvious,” Mishra said. “Our goal in publishing such reports and list is to make our readers aware of such pressing issues, so that our society and especially businesses take corrective measures to institute and execute equal pay policy.”
The list is based on the total compensation in 2015, including base salary, bonus, incentives and stock award values. The report is compiled based on public documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, public records and news reports.

Article should read, “Highest Paid Indian-Americans Working For Public Companies & Government in New England”.
While you mention it in the article, the omission of that from the headline will mislead many.
Also, you claim it’s disappointing not to see a single woman on the list of highest paid Indian Americans, but your list primarily consists of CEOs of public companies, a well-known unfortunately male-dominated position outside the scope of ethnic background (8% of the top 100 Public Company CEOs are women), and not those working for private companies and those in the medical field, both of where you’ll be sure to find high-earning women.
I’m also a bit surprised that there’s no mention of Indra Nooyi, the Indian American CEO of PepsiCo, who with a $22.2M would have found herself at Rank 2. PepsiCo may have their HQ in neighboring NY, but given she lives in Connecticut, she may find herself reading the India New England.
