Puri– Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, along with his wife Priti Adani and son Karan Adani, took part in the annual Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, Odisha, on Saturday. The Rath Yatra is among India’s most significant and sacred religious festivals, drawing millions of devotees each year.
The Adani family joined the throngs of pilgrims gathered to witness the grand procession of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra, and actively participated in the accompanying rituals, including the traditional ‘Rath Poojan’.
Marking their spiritual involvement, the Adani Group has also launched the ‘Prasad Seva’ initiative in Puri Dham, aimed at providing clean and nutritious food to devotees during the chariot festival. The initiative is designed to enhance the pilgrimage experience for the lakhs of visitors arriving in the temple town.
Sharing his sentiments on social media platform X, Gautam Adani wrote:
“By the infinite grace of Lord Shri Jagannath Ji, we have been blessed with the opportunity to serve in the sacred Rath Yatra of Puri Dham. With the resolve that every devotee receives clean, nutritious, and lovingly served food, we have initiated the ‘Prasad Seva’ in Puri Dham.”
He further expressed that the entire Adani family is committed to serving devotees with sincerity and reverence during the auspicious celebrations.
The ‘Prasad Seva’ initiative extends beyond devotees, also offering free meals and refreshments to frontline workers and officials engaged in managing the large-scale event. Multiple distribution counters have been set up across Puri to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of food.
Reflecting on the group’s involvement, Adani stated:
“It is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction for me and the entire Adani family. I pray that the grace of Lord Shri Jagannath Ji remains upon us all forever. Serving humanity is serving the Divine, and service itself is spiritual practice.”
This initiative follows the Adani Group’s previous outreach at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, where they supported food distribution efforts in collaboration with religious and civic organizations.
For the Rath Yatra, the Adani Group has committed to distributing approximately four million meals and beverages between June 26 and July 8. To help pilgrims cope with the intense summer heat, cool beverage stalls have also been installed throughout the town.
With its scale and dedication, the ‘Prasad Seva’ initiative seeks not only to serve meals but also to foster a sense of devotion, unity, and community spirit—core values reflected in the ethos of the Rath Yatra. (SourceL IANS)
