BOSTON—Five South Asians are among the list of highest paid executives of public companies in Massachusetts. They are: Namal Nawana, president and CEO of Alere Inc.; Krishan Canekeratne, chairman and CEO, Virtusa Corp.; Yogesh Gupta, CEO, Progress Software Corp.; and Anil Singhal, chairman, president and CEO, NetScout Systems.
The list was compiled by the Boston Business Journal and published in its June 30 issue.
Of the 100 highest paid executives of Massachusetts-based public companies in 2016, Nawana ranked #21 with a total compensation of $11.14 million; Canekeratne ranked #58 with $4.42 million; Yogesh Gupta ranked #71 with $3.63 million; and Singhal ranked #92 with $3 million.
The top five highest paid executives were: Martin Rope, CEO, Boston Beer Company, $23.39 million; Jeffrey Immelt, Chairman and CEO, General Electric Corp.; Thomas Kennedy, Chairman and CEO, Raytheon Co., $20.46 million; Walter Uihlein, President and CEO, Acushnet Holdings, $19.54 million; and Michael Minogue, chairman, president and CEO, Abiomed Inc., $19.02 million, according to Boston Business Journal.
