CHENNAI– The much-anticipated first single from actor-director Dhanush’s upcoming action entertainer Idly Kadai is officially set to release on July 27, the filmmakers announced on Monday.
Dawn Pictures, which is producing the film alongside Dhanush’s own Wunderbar Films, shared the update on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, writing:
“Time to hit the drums, the celebration begins on 27th July. #IdlyKadai – First single loading. A @gvprakash Musical. Worldwide in Cinemas from October 1.”
Dhanush also shared the news on his X timeline, posting, “Idly Kadai first single update” along with a promotional poster that read, “First single – A G.V. Prakash musical. The celebration begins on 27th July.”
The announcement has further heightened anticipation among fans and cinephiles, who are eagerly awaiting the film’s release.
The Idly Kadai team wrapped up filming in April, having shot key sequences in Bangkok. According to sources, the Bangkok schedule included an important scene featuring the film’s entire cast.
While the film was initially slated for a global release on April 10, the makers later postponed the premiere to October 1.
Sources have also confirmed that actor Arun Vijay will play the primary antagonist in the film, setting up an intense showdown with Dhanush. The face-off between the two actors is expected to be one of the film’s major highlights.
Additionally, the filmmakers confirmed that actress Shalini Pandey, rumored to be part of the project, indeed plays a significant role.
Idly Kadai stars Dhanush and Nithya Menen in the lead roles and is directed by Dhanush himself. The film features music by G.V. Prakash and cinematography by Kiran Koushik.
