CHENNAI– The first single from the much-anticipated travel thriller Mareesan, directed by Sudeesh Shankar and starring Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu, was officially released on Wednesday, generating excitement among fans and cinephiles.

Titled ‘Fa Fa’, the track is a philosophical number laced with humor. Featuring lyrics by Madhan Karky and composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the song has been sung by Mathichiyam Bala and offers a glimpse into the quirky yet reflective tone of the film.

Mareesan has been generating buzz ever since the release of its intriguing teaser. The teaser opens with the classic Tamil hit “Aaha Inba Nilavinile…” from the legendary film Mayabazaar, playing as Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu travel together through picturesque fields and towns. Midway through, the original track fades out and continues in Vadivelu’s voice, signaling growing tension between the two characters. The music slowly falls out of tune as scenes hint at police involvement, before returning with Vadivelu melodiously singing the final line in a uniquely altered version of the original tune.

The film is one of the most eagerly awaited Tamil releases of the year, marking the second collaboration between Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu. The duo previously shared screen space in Maamannan, a socio-political drama directed by Mari Selvaraj that earned both critical acclaim and box office success.

Adding to the film’s significance, Mareesan will be the 98th production of Super Good Films, a renowned banner credited with backing numerous quality projects and launching many iconic filmmakers in the Tamil industry.

While plot details remain under wraps, insiders describe Mareesan as a travel thriller. Filming has been completed and post-production is currently in full swing.

Alongside Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu, the film features an ensemble cast including Vivek Prasanna, Renuka, and Sithara. V. Krishnamurthi has written the story, screenplay, and dialogues, and also serves as the film’s creative director.

The technical crew includes Yuvan Shankar Raja as music composer, Kalaiselvan Sivaji as cinematographer, Sreejith Sarang as editor, and Mahendran as art director.

Mareesan is scheduled for theatrical release on July 25. (Source: IANS)
