BOSTON—Today, I am mourning the loss of my brother Dr. S. K. Jha. He saved lives of thousands of Covid patients as a front-line worker but lost his own life.
I am honored to be his sister and proud to call him Bhaiya!!! He always said, “we should try our best to help others but be ready to accept whatever happens”. That was his medicine mantra. Today, I am sitting here and looking at his pictures thinking – he just gave all of us a life lesson!
He is survived by his wife, a son, daughter in law, one brother, two sisters, six nieces and two nephews!
Our entire family salutes these miracle workers we call doctors, from bottom of our heart!! We lost our battle but miracle workers like my brother are ever ready to bring your loved one home safely from this and/or other deadly diseases.
My brother’s dedication and respect of his profession will continue to reside in all of us and inspire us to go above and beyond in serving humanity. He will never be forgotten … we will continue to keep his dreams alive!!! I strongly believe that a person is alive as long as his memory is alive.
My humble request is to help folks in India in this second Covid wave, whichever way you can: sharing resources, education, reaching out to family and friends or financial help by donating to charities. One such resource is below:
IITD Alumni has made CovRelief ( https://covidrelief.glideapp.io/) which provides *live tracking of vacant hospital beds in cities*. All the data for hospital bed tracking is taken from government websites. Additional information like mega-links having information on *oxygen availability, plasma, videos by renowned doctor, etc.* is also provided which has been collected by individuals.
You can forward this app/website in your groups or friends since this provides a lot of data in a single place. Upon opening the app-link, click on ‘add to home screen’ to install it. Hope it serves its intended purpose, with your support.
