CHENNAI– Actor Vijay Deverakonda shared an emotional reaction on Tuesday to the promo of Anna Antene, the second single from his upcoming film Kingdom, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The touching track, which celebrates the bond between brothers, is set to release on July 16.
The heartfelt melody has been composed and sung by music director Anirudh Ravichander, with lyrics penned by Krishna Kanth. A teaser of the song was released to build anticipation among fans—and it clearly struck a chord with the film’s lead actor.
“This promo made me emotional,” Deverakonda wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Everybody who has a brother is going to feel their love for them… Everybody who doesn’t have one is going to feel the void of not having one. But one thing—everybody is going to feel something.” He also shared a link to the promo video in his post.
Kingdom has been generating strong buzz ever since its teaser dropped, showcasing Deverakonda in an intense, action-packed role described as “an unstoppable force.” Originally slated for release on March 28, the film was later pushed to May 30, then July 4. The final release date is now confirmed for July 31, 2024.
Once dubbed “VD12” during production, Kingdom carries the tagline: “From the shadows of betrayal, shall rise a king.” The story promises a gripping mix of drama, emotion, and high-octane action.
Written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the film features music by Anirudh Ravichander and editing by National Award-winner Navin Nooli. It is being jointly produced by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, and presented by Srikara Studios.
Well-known stylist Neeraja Kona is handling costume design, while Vijay Binni is choreographing the film’s musical numbers. The action sequences are being orchestrated by three leading stunt coordinators—Yannick Ben, Chethan D’Souza, and Real Satish—underscoring the film’s commitment to delivering blockbuster-scale set pieces.
