Saheli 5K Walk – Honoring Domestic Violence Awareness Month
📍 Horn Pond, 50 Sturgis Street, Woburn, MA
📅 Saturday, October 25th | 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Join us for the Saheli 5K Walk, a powerful community gathering to honor survivors of domestic violence and their children. When you register for $35, you’ll receive a complimentary Saheli T-shirt and every step you take will directly support families in crisis.
💜 Why Saheli Walks – and Why We Need You With Us
Every day, immigrant survivors of domestic violence turn to Saheli at the most vulnerable moments of their lives. They arrive with children in their arms, often with no safe home, no financial security, and no legal protection.
✨ This is where Saheli steps in. We provide:
Legal Aid for custody, separation, and safety
Housing Support to secure safe, transitional homes
Culturally-tailored Mental Health Care to heal from trauma
Children’s Education & Essentials so kids can thrive
Groceries & Household Needs to stabilize families as they rebuild
But right now, federal funding cuts are threatening these very lifelines. Our mental health program – the cornerstone of recovery – has already been cut, and legal aid and housing support are at risk. Survivors who rely on Saheli face losing the only safety net they have.
💜 This is why we walk. The Saheli 5K Walk is more than an event. It is a promise to survivors that we will not abandon them when they need us most.
Every step you take and every dollar you give helps ensure that a survivor has:
âś” A safe place to sleep
âś” A lawyer to fight by their side
âś” A counselor to help them heal
âś” Hope for a life beyond violence
