Global Voices in Verse

Global Voices in Verse is a monthly poetry event that brings people together to celebrate poetry from different cultures. It creates a space for cultural exchange by inviting participants to read and share poems from various languages and backgrounds. Unlike regular poetry readings, this event encourages both poets and non-poets to explore poetry beyond their own experiences, helping them appreciate different literary traditions. By featuring voices from around the world, it shows how poetry can connect people across cultures.
Participants choose a poem—whether from a famous poet or someone less known—and read it in its original language. They then discuss or translate it so everyone can understand and enjoy it. This approach not only highlights different languages but also helps people learn about the history, emotions, and meanings behind the poems. Through these shared experiences, Global Voices in Verse creates an open and welcoming environment that promotes cultural understanding and appreciation.”
