Enchantment on Ravi Shankar Headlines LearnQuest Dance Festival in Framingham

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — The internationally acclaimed bioplay Enchantment, inspired by the life and artistic journey of legendary sitar maestro Ravi Shankar, will serve as the featured presentation at the 2026 LearnQuest Dance Festival on May 9 in Framingham.

Written by Gowri Ramnarayan, the production has drawn sold-out audiences worldwide and now makes its highly anticipated North American presentation as part of the festival’s expanded third annual program.

Presented at approximately 4:30 p.m., Enchantment blends theater, live dance, and music to trace Ravi Shankar’s transformation from a young boy traveling through Paris to one of the world’s most influential musical ambassadors. The production features compositions and vocals by Bombay Jayashri alongside Ravi Shankar’s music, creating a multi-genre theatrical experience that has generated waiting lists at venues across the globe.

The LearnQuest Dance Festival, running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Keefe Regional Technical School, will also showcase a diverse lineup of Indian classical dance traditions and ensemble performances.

Among the additional highlights is Kathak Yātrā: Tab Se Ab Tak, curated by Kathak exponent Shambhavi Dandekar and the S.I.S.K. Dance Ensemble. The work explores the evolution of Kathak through a dynamic group presentation spanning traditional and contemporary interpretations of the form.

The festival will also feature Sri Krishna Parijatham, a vibrant Kuchipudi dance ballet directed by Sailaja Chaudhary Tummala, portraying the divine story of Lord Krishna and Satyabhama through expressive storytelling and choreography.

Another featured presentation, Love, Longing and Laya, brings together Bharatanatyam dancers Amrita Thirumalai and Shrinidhi Jeyaram in a graceful duet performance under the guidance of Guru Sridevi Thirumalai.

Organized by Pallavi Nagesha, the annual festival continues to expand its audience and artistic reach, bringing together internationally recognized performers, emerging artists, and local dance students on one stage.

Tickets for the one-day event are selling quickly. Additional information and online booking are available at LearnQuest Dance Festival Tickets and LearnQuest.org.
