BURLINGTON, MA—India Association of Greater Boston, known as IAGB, announced that eight teams will participate in the organization’s semi-final Antakshari gala on Jan. 12 at Priya restaurant in Lowell, MA, followed by India’s Republic Day Mela on Jan. 26 at the Burlington High School in Burlington, MA.
IAGB recently held multiple preliminary sessions for the Antakshari competition. Eight teams have been selected to compete in the semi-finals, IAGB said in a statement.
The eight participating teams include:
Bijalee: – Samita Apte and Prachi Mahurkar
Aa Dekhen Zara: – Preeti Sharma and Vipul Kumar
Burmaniacs: – Anish Desai and Krishna Desai
Pawan-Divya: – Pawan Lalwani and Divya Lalwani
Piku PK: – Japneet Kwatra and Vaibhav Bhoite
Deewane: – Suruchi Sinha Saxena and Sapan Saxena
Cambridge Chutney: – Swati Purawat and Anumeha Shah
Mile Sur Mera Tumhara: – Shilpa Atnoor and Rajesh Iyer
The Antakshari Semi-Finals Dinner Gala will be held on Jan. 12, 2019 at Priya Restaurant in Lowell, Entry (includes dinner) is available at $10 for members of IAGB and $15 for non-members.

Republic Day is one of IAGB’s signature event for the last several decades. The celebration this year will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Burlington High School, Burlington, MA.
The final Republic Day event will be comprised of two segments. IAGB will kick off the celebrations in the afternoon with various competitions for different ages groups. This includes carrom, skit, chess, general knowledge quiz, elocution, story-telling and poetry writing.
Competition participation is free and open to all members; sign up is available on IAGB’s website. This segment will be followed by the cultural performances and Antakshari Grand Finale. The two will be interwoven and showcased starting 5:00 pm.
