ANDOVER, MA– Dhruvi Patel was crowned Miss India New England 2023 and Sneha Nambiar bagged Mrs. India New England title last weekend during the regional pageant held at Double Tree Hilton in Andover, MA. Miss India Pre-Teen New England title went to Diya Ranganarayan.
The three winners will go to the National Miss USA India pageant, which will be held in New Jersey this month.
“This year marks the 41st anniversary of the Miss India USA pageant, which is the longest-running Indian pageant outside of India, and Miss India New England is glad to be affiliated to them,” said Miss India USA State Director Ruchika Arora. “As Mr. Dharmatma Saran, Chairman of Worldwide Pageants often talk about “Bringing India Closer”- I think Miss India New England was able to bring India closer to modern Indian girls and women living in the area.”

The event was filled with glamor, talent, and the celebration of Indian heritage in a vibrant way. The contestants performed showcasing their talent, intelligence and grace in ethnic dress, talent and evening gown rounds.
The show featured fashion show by Hollywood-based designer of Indian origin, Shekhar Rahate, who presented his latest collection of evening gowns worn by most diverse group of top models ever seen in this area.
Primetime dance was classical Kathak by Miley Arora on ‘Thumak Chalat Ramchandra’ choreographed by Mona Bhowmick. Opening Ganesh Naam was sung by Shraddha Agrawal and Anish Khanzode conducted audience voting for Viewer’s Choice Crowns in Miss, Teen and Pre-Teen categories.
The Guest of Honor at Miss India New England 2023 show was Punita Sinha, who also presented ‘Excellence Awards for Leadership’ during the show. Her presence was inspirational to many girls/women participants of the pageant.
The tiara and sash moment became possible for many that day alongside an opportunity to shine with this eleven-year-old pageant tradition in New England. From Bollywood and semi classical dance routines to soulful singing and meaningful poetry- the talent portion was captivating.
The extraordinary array of evening gowns and ethnic Indian dresses were presented by contestants this year. The choreographer for the show was Nishi Bahl from New York.
Judges were Sonia Sujanani, Shalini Kashyap, Dr Sapna Agarwal, Jayesh Mehta, Vidhi Dalia, Jharna Madan and Shreya Patel Ranganarayan.
“The pageant has witnessed several success stories during the past decade; and also saw transformation of New England as a talent hub where opportunity to shine became available to girls and women of Indian heritage,” said Ms. Arora. “The inspirational women introducing themselves on the stage represent strength of Indian American girls/women and community when they talk about their educational background, professional achievements and aspirations.”
